Sometimes, it feels like the animals of the world are the only ones who truly understand us. There’s a reason why dogs are known as man’s best friend, after all. Through good times, and also through bad times, they are there for us. In fact, a lot of us confide in our canines more than we ever would in a fellow human. And there’s a reason why doing this is as good for them as getting our problems off our chest is good for us.
We’ve All Seen the Videos
YouTube is crammed with funny pet videos. Whether it’s cats being taken by surprise by cucumbers or hamsters undertaking homemade assault courses, you can lose entire afternoons watching cute animal footage filmed on cell phones. But it’s the dogs who are the kings and queens of the format.
A video of an owner talking to their dog demonstrates this deep, almost spiritual, relationship. And when the owner describes what the dog could be thinking in response to their statements, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility to think it could be true! And at the same time, the owner will be helping their dog by talking to them too.

Making Our Pets Human
Treating our pets exactly as we would treat a person is a good thing. It’s called anthropomorphizing and it shows that we as humans are intelligent! We think that our dogs can understand us because we are talking to them in a language they can comprehend.
This means we’re a species with a superior grasp of communication. So keep talking to your best buddy on the end of their leash, wherever you take them. Ask them who’s a good or clever boy or girl and don’t be surprised if one day they actually answer you back to tell you that they are, even if it's in their language.

Seagull Spotted with Stolen Dentures
Seagulls are among the most well-known birds around. That does not mean they are well-liked though. Infamous for being annoyingly pesky, they regularly steal snacks and shiny objects lying around. Sometimes seagulls find the gall to steal food right out of a person’s hand. Cookies, ice cream, sandwiches - none of it is safe at the beach. However, this seagull here puts many of the other birds to shame. Spotted flying over Newton Abbot, England, the seagull had someone’s dentures in its beak! The photos were shared on Spotted Newton Abbot, a page on Facebook. The photo had a caption attached to it, saying "Hi Spotted Newton Abbot, can you please post this picture below. Someone's false teeth were found on a bench on Torquay Harbour at lunchtime. Unfortunately, anyone missing them will need to contact the seagull as he flew away with them!"
We wish we knew more about the circumstances behind this image but unfortunately that’s all that’s known. We have so many questions here. Who was the poor soul who lost their dentures to a seagull? What was his reaction upon discovering what happened to his dentures? Why did the seagull even want the dentures in the first place? A quick look online shows that this is not even the first instance of seagulls striking on dentures. From Australia to America, there are many stories of these winged thieves making away with people’s dentures. We are not entirely sure what appeal they see with it. I guess they don’t call them bird brains for nothing! The key lesson that you can take away from this is that you can’t trust a seagull - with anything. You never know when you are in their crosshairs so always keep an eye out when you are at the beach.
